The results of the summer 2009 Charter airline punctuality season have now been released on our special analysis page at flightontime.info/summer2009. Thomson Airways finished in first place during the season.
There was a significant fall in delays during the summer 2009 UK charter airline season, with the average charter flight operating only around 19 minutes late, the lowest level on record since we began analysing data in 2001.

| 8th January 2010 - 2009 Jan-Sep Scheduled Punctuality

The results of the first nine months of 2009 scheduled and low-cost airline punctuality have been released across the site.
bmi regional was the most punctual scheduled airline at UK airports during the period, followed by VLM Airlines. Flybe took top spot for low-cost airline punctuality.
The Key Routes section has also been fully updated for the January to September 2009 period.

| 29th June 2009 - Changes to Taxi Time Assumptions at UK Reporting Airports
|
The CAA have reviewed average taxi times at UK reporting airports and applied revised assumptions from January 2009 data onwards. The data section of the site lists the new taxi times from 2009.
Users should be cautious when comparing pre-2009 data with 2009 data as these are no longer directly comparable.

The results of the full year 2008 scheduled and low-cost airline punctuality have been released across the site.
bmi regional was the most punctual scheduled airline at UK airports for the fourth consecutive year, followed by Eastern Airways.
The Key Routes section has also been fully updated for 2008.

| 19th January 2009 - Summer 2008 UK Charter Punctuality League Table Announced

XL Airways followed as runner-up for the season, although this was only based on data up to September 2008 due to the suspension of operations prior to the end of the summer.
A sharp increase in delays was seen for Thomas Cook Airlines (now merged with MyTravel Airways), whose average delay was 30% higher during summer 2008 compared with summer 2007, at 35 minutes on average.
Monarch Airlines charter flights had the poorest punctuality during the summer 2008 season, with the average flight delayed by 40 minutes.

The winter 2007 / 2008 charter airline punctuality season results have been uploaded to the site, with MyTravel Airways the most punctual UK charter airline of the season, followed by Thomsonfly.

| 24th March 2008 - 2007 Scheduled Airline Punctuality Results
|
The results of the full year 2007 scheduled and low-cost airline punctuality have been released across the site.
In the scheduled airlines section bmi regional achieved a punctuality hat-trick securing first place for scheduled timekeeping for the third consecutive year.
In runner-up position, also for the third year running, was Eastern Airways with a very strong performance.
The Key Routes section has also been fully updated for 2007 with EOS Airlines taking top spot in the competitive London to New York punctuality race for the second year.
VLM Airlines had the best punctuality on the London to Amsterdam route, the busiest from London in terms of flights in 2007, while the busiest domestic route between London and Edinburgh was led by bmi.

| 14th January 2008 - Summer 2007 UK Charter Punctuality League Table Announced

The results of the summer 2007 UK charter airline punctuality season have been released on our special page at flightontime.info/summer2007. MyTravel Airways finished in first place during the season for the second consecutive year, closely followed by Thomsonfly in runner-up position.
It was a close match for first place with less than a minute separating the average delay of the two carriers, although MyTravel Airways had better on-time performance at 79%, a 5% advantage on runner-up Thomsonfly.
Monarch Airlines also picked up the Most Improved UK Charter Airline award in recognition of their significant improvment in punctuality since summer 2006, the airline finishing the season in third place overall.
Improvements in timekeeping were also seen for Astraeus and XL Airways, while Thomas Cook Airlines, runner-up airline for summer 2006, suffered a large drop in punctuality ending the season in 7th position on the league table.

Following several requests we have uploaded scheduled flight punctuality statistics for airlines which predominantly operate charter flights.
Data for scheduled flights operated by Astraeus and Thomsonfly is now available and we would be grateful to hear your feedback on these new sections, which will be updated along with the scheduled punctuality statistics on the site (i.e. quarterly).

The Key Routes section has been re-vamped to analyse route punctuality for 50 destinations across the world from London Airports, sorted by region.

We have uploaded new pages with detailed scheduled punctuality statistics for Edinburgh, Glasgow and London Luton airports.
The Charter Airlines section still hosts the final summer 2005 punctuality results as uploaded earlier this month, with First Choice Airways announced as the most punctual UK charter airline this year.

| 9th January 2006 - Summer 2005 UK Charter Airline Punctuality Announced |
Analysis of the summer 2005 UK Charter Airline season was completed ahead of schedule today, with First Choice Airways leading the eight analysed carriers as the most punctual charter airline for the first time, knocking Thomsonfly off the top punctuality spot.
