31st January 2012 - Summer 2011 Charter Punctuality League Table & 2011 Jan-Sep Scheduled Data
The results of the summer 2011 Charter airline punctuality season have now been released on our special analysis page at flightontime.info/summer2011. Thomson Airways finished in first place during the season, for the third consecutive year.

Compared to summer 2010, there was a significant improvement in punctuality during the summer 2011 UK charter airline season, with the average charter flight operating around 20 minutes late, among the better averages on record over the last decade.

Most Punctual Summer 2011
Thomas Cook Airlines followed as runner-up for the season, followed by Monarch Airlines in third place.

Meanwhile the results of the first nine months of 2011 scheduled and low-cost airline punctuality have been released across the site.

bmi Regional returned to number one position at the top of the punctuality league table during the year to date, with Ryanair maintaining first place among the low cost airlines.

The Key Routes section has also been fully updated for the Jan-Sep 2011 period.

31st July 2011 - Winter 2010 / 11 Charter Punctuality Results
Our analysis of the winter 2010 / 11 charter airline season was uploaded to the site, with Thomas Cook Airlines taking top position in our league table as the most punctual charter airline operating in the UK for the second consecutive winter season, narrowly beating Thomson Airways into second position.

21st March 2011 - 2010 Scheduled Airline Punctuality Results
The results of the full year 2010 scheduled and low-cost airline punctuality have been released across the site.

bmi regional was the most punctual scheduled airline at UK airports for the sixth consecutive year, followed by Eastern Airways.

In the low cost airlines category, flybe climbed to the top of the table for 2010, followed closely by Ryanair in second place.

The Key Routes section has also been fully updated for 2010.

10th January 2011 - Summer 2010 Charter Punctuality League Table Announced
The results of the summer 2010 Charter airline punctuality season have now been released on our special analysis page at flightontime.info/summer2010. Thomson Airways finished in first place during the season.

Compared to summer 2009, there was a significant increase in delays during the summer 2010 UK charter airline season, with the average charter flight operating around 29 minutes late, one of the highest levels on record over nearly the last decade.

Most Punctual Summer 2010
Monarch Airlines followed as runner-up for the season, followed by Thomas Cook Airlines in third place.

Viking Airlines charter flights had the poorest punctuality during the summer 2010 season, with the average flight delayed by over 50 minutes.

17th December 2010 - 2010 Jan-Sep Scheduled Data
The results of the first nine months of 2010 scheduled and low-cost airline punctuality have been released across the site.

bmi regional continue to be at the top of the punctuality league table during the year to date, with flybe in first position among the low cost airlines.

The Key Routes section has also been fully updated for the Jan-Sep 2010 period.

3rd November 2010 - Summer 2010 Apr-Aug Charter Punctuality Results
Analysis of the first five months of the summer 2010 charter airline season has been updated, with Thomson Airways now in first place with only two months of analysis still remaining. Monthly updates of the league table will continue, with the final full season results available in January 2011.

19th April 2010 - 2009 Scheduled Airline Punctuality Results
The results of the full year 2009 scheduled and low-cost airline punctuality have been released across the site.

bmi regional was the most punctual scheduled airline at UK airports for the fifth consecutive year, followed by KLM.

The Key Routes section has also been fully updated for 2009, with 16 new routes analysed (see below).

19th April 2010 - Key Routes Section Updated
Our popular Key Routes section, analysing the punctuality of scheduled airlines on the most popular routes from the five London Airports, has been enhanced with 16 new routes analysed for 2009:

In Europe: Oslo, Nice, Berlin, Alicante and Faro
In the US and Canada: Philadelphia, Dallas, Orlando, Vancouver and Calgary
In the Middle East / Asia: Kuala Lumpur, Amman, Jeddah, Seoul, Tehran and Beirut

18th January 2010 - Summer 2009 Charter Punctuality League Table Announced
The results of the summer 2009 Charter airline punctuality season have now been released on our special analysis page at flightontime.info/summer2009. Thomson Airways finished in first place during the season.

There was a significant fall in delays during the summer 2009 UK charter airline season, with the average charter flight operating only around 19 minutes late, the lowest level on record since we began analysing data in 2001.

Viking Airlines charter flights had the poorest punctuality during the summer 2009 season, with the average flight delayed by nearly 40 minutes.

29th June 2009 - Winter 2008 / 09 Charter Punctuality Results
In our analysis of the winter 2008 / 09 charter airline season, Thomas Cook Airlines was the most punctual UK charter airline.

29th June 2009 - Changes to Taxi Time Assumptions at UK Reporting Airports
The CAA have reviewed average taxi times at UK reporting airports and applied revised assumptions from January 2009 data onwards. The data section of the site lists the new taxi times from 2009.

Users should be cautious when comparing pre-2009 data with 2009 data as these are no longer directly comparable.

23rd March 2009 - 2008 Scheduled Airline Punctuality Results
The results of the full year 2008 scheduled and low-cost airline punctuality have been released across the site.

bmi regional was the most punctual scheduled airline at UK airports for the fourth consecutive year, followed by Eastern Airways.

The Key Routes section has also been fully updated for 2008.

19th January 2009 - Summer 2008 UK Charter Punctuality League Table Announced
The results of the summer 2008 UK charter airline punctuality season have been released on our special page at flightontime.info/summer2008. Thomsonfly & First Choice finished in first place during the season.

There was a sharp rise in delays during the summer 2008 UK charter airline season, with the average charter flight operating over 30 minutes late (a seven year high).

Most Punctual Summer 2008
XL Airways followed as runner-up for the season, although this was only based on data up to September 2008 due to the suspension of operations prior to the end of the summer.

A sharp increase in delays was seen for Thomas Cook Airlines (now merged with MyTravel Airways), whose average delay was 30% higher during summer 2008 compared with summer 2007, at 35 minutes on average.

Monarch Airlines charter flights had the poorest punctuality during the summer 2008 season, with the average flight delayed by 40 minutes.

1st July 2008 - Winter 2007 / 08 Charter Punctuality Results
The winter 2007 / 2008 charter airline punctuality season results have been uploaded to the site, with MyTravel Airways the most punctual UK charter airline of the season, followed by Thomsonfly.

24th March 2008 - 2007 Scheduled Airline Punctuality Results
The results of the full year 2007 scheduled and low-cost airline punctuality have been released across the site.

In the scheduled airlines section bmi regional achieved a punctuality hat-trick securing first place for scheduled timekeeping for the third consecutive year.

In runner-up position, also for the third year running, was Eastern Airways with a very strong performance.

The Key Routes section has also been fully updated for 2007 with EOS Airlines taking top spot in the competitive London to New York punctuality race for the second year.

VLM Airlines had the best punctuality on the London to Amsterdam route, the busiest from London in terms of flights in 2007, while the busiest domestic route between London and Edinburgh was led by bmi.

14th January 2008 - Summer 2007 UK Charter Punctuality League Table Announced
The results of the summer 2007 UK charter airline punctuality season have been released on our special page at flightontime.info/summer2007. MyTravel Airways finished in first place during the season for the second consecutive year, closely followed by Thomsonfly in runner-up position.

It was a close match for first place with less than a minute separating the average delay of the two carriers, although MyTravel Airways had better on-time performance at 79%, a 5% advantage on runner-up Thomsonfly.

Monarch Airlines also picked up the Most Improved UK Charter Airline award in recognition of their significant improvment in punctuality since summer 2006, the airline finishing the season in third place overall.

Improvements in timekeeping were also seen for Astraeus and XL Airways, while Thomas Cook Airlines, runner-up airline for summer 2006, suffered a large drop in punctuality ending the season in 7th position on the league table.

13th July 2007 - Astraeus and Thomsonfly Scheduled Flight Punctuality
Following several requests we have uploaded scheduled flight punctuality statistics for airlines which predominantly operate charter flights.

Data for scheduled flights operated by Astraeus and Thomsonfly is now available and we would be grateful to hear your feedback on these new sections, which will be updated along with the scheduled punctuality statistics on the site (i.e. quarterly).

27th June 2007 - Winter 2006 / 07 Charter Punctuality
The winter 2006 / 2007 charter airline punctuality season results have been uploaded to the site, with First Choice Airways the most punctual UK charter airline of the season, closely followed by MyTravel Airways.

30th March 2007 - 2006 Jan-Dec Data Uploaded
The site was updated today to take account of the latest punctuality data available, for the full year 2006.

In the scheduled airlines section bmi regional achieved first place for scheduled timekeeping over the year.

The Key Routes section has been re-vamped to analyse route punctuality for 50 destinations across the world from London Airports, sorted by region.

18th January 2007 - Summer 2006 UK Charter Punctuality League Table Announced
The results of the summmer 2006 UK charter airline punctuality season have been released on our special page at flightontime.info/summer2006. MyTravel Airways finished in first place during the season with punctuality well in excess of any competitors, and also scooped the Most Improved UK Charter Airline award for the second consecutive year.

Thomas Cook Airlines finished as runner-up for the season, also recording a good improvement in timekeeping year-on-year.

26th June 2006 - Route-level punctuality data
In the scheduled airlines section route-level data has been added for 10 new scheduled airlines operating at UK airports.

19th March 2006 - 2005 Annual Results
We are pleased to announce the addition of 2005 Annual Punctuality Data to the site, taking into account data for the complete year 2005 (Jan-Dec).

We have added a special page at flightontime.info/2005 looking in detail at the best (and the worst) punctuality for both scheduled and charter flights at UK airports in 2005.

27th February 2006 - More Airport Analysis
We have uploaded new pages with detailed scheduled punctuality statistics for Edinburgh, Glasgow and London Luton airports.

The Charter Airlines section still hosts the final summer 2005 punctuality results as uploaded earlier this month, with First Choice Airways announced as the most punctual UK charter airline this year.

9th January 2006 - Summer 2005 UK Charter Airline Punctuality Announced
Analysis of the summer 2005 UK Charter Airline season was completed ahead of schedule today, with First Choice Airways leading the eight analysed carriers as the most punctual charter airline for the first time, knocking Thomsonfly off the top punctuality spot.
