Charter flight punctuality at Stansted improved significantly during the year to date compared with the same period the previous year, the average delay reducing by nearly 45% from 26 minutes to 14 minutes and on-time performance increasing by over 16 percentage points from 62% to 78%.
Only 5% of charter flights at the airport were delayed by over an hour, half the level affected the previous year.
Generally, charter flights at Stansted had far better punctuality than the UK average over the year to date.

Thomson Airways was the most punctual charter airline at London Stansted during the summer 2009 season, with 89% on-time performance and an average delay of 9 minutes recorded.
Thomas Cook Airlines followed with good punctuality, 81% on-time performance and 13 minutes average delay.

Thomas Cook Airlines flights had the most punctual delay profile at Stansted during the winter 2008 / 09 season, with an average delay of less than 15 minutes and 74% on-time performance recorded.
Thomson Airways followed with slightly below average timekeeping at the airport, while the small number of flights operated by Monarch Airlines had the longest delays at 38 minutes on average.
