Charter flight punctuality at London Stansted remained relatively static during the year to October 2008 compared with the same period the previous year, with the average flight delayed by 26 minutes and on-time performance standing at 62%.

The charter flight punctuality profile at the airport was better than the UK average during the year.

Note: A small number of flights by Monarch Airlines (11) and XL Airways (4) were not analysed.

Only Thomsonfly / First Choice and Thomas Cook Airlines operated a significant number of charter flights at London Stansted during the summer 2008 season. Thomsonfly / First Choice had a shorter average delay (at 21 minutes) and better on-time performance (at 68%) than Thomas Cook Airlines (34 minutes and 61% respectively).

More than twice as many Thomas Cook charter flights at Stansted were delayed in excess of an hour (1 in 6) compared with Thomsonfly / First Choice (1 in 14).

First Choice Airways was the most punctual UK charter airline at London Stansted during the winter 2007 / 08 season, recording an average delay of 18 minutes and 79% on-time performance.

Thomsonfly achieved second place with good punctuality and the lowest proportion of flights delayed in excess of one hour at the airport (5.4%).

Thomas Cook Airlines had less than average punctuality at Stansted, while the small number of flights operated by MyTravel Airways and Monarch Airlines had the worst timekeeping.
