Charter flights at London Stansted during 2005 suffered a significant increase in average delay compared with 2004, caused by an increase in extensive delays in excess of 1 hour and 3 hours respectively, while on-time performance has reduced only slightly.
The general trend for charter flights at all UK airports during 2005 was also for a drop in punctuality, and charter flights at Stansted remained comfortably more punctual than the UK average in 2005.

Monarch Airlines stood out as the most punctual UK charter airline at London Stansted during the summer 2005 season, with an average delay of less than 7 minutes, though this was based on a small sample of flights.
Thomsonfly, First Choice Airways and MyTravel Airways all followed with good punctuality and high on-time performance levels.
The only poor timekeeping performances at the airport were recorded for Thomas Cook Airlines, with an average delay of 22 minutes, and Excel Airways with an average delay of 28 minutes.
London Stansted boasted the best overall on-time performance of any UK reporting airport for UK charter airlines during summer 2005, at 81%.

Britannia and Thomas Cook charter flights to and from London Stansted during the winter 2004 / 2005 season achieved good punctuality with around 84% on-time performance.
First Choice suffered longer delays averaging 19 minutes, while the small number of Monarch Airlines charter flights had the poorest performance with 36 minutes average delay and less than 50% on-time performance.
