Charter flight punctuality at Newcastle airport improved significantly over the year to date compared to the same period the previous year, the average delay reducing by 30% from 24 minutes to 17 minutes and on-time performance increasing by 9 percentage points to 79%.

Thomson Airways and Thomas Cook Airlines were the only carriers operating a significant number of charter flights at Newcastle during the summer 2011 season.
Thomson flights had the lowest average delay, at 16 minutes compared with 19 minutes for Thomas Cook, and in terms of on-time performance Thomson flights also had the upper hand recording 81% compared with 77% for Thomas Cook.

Thomson Airways was the most punctual charter airline at Newcastle during the winter 2010 / 11 season, with an average delay of 18 minutes and 76% on-time performance recorded.
Thomas Cook Airlines followed with similar on-time performance at 75%, but a higher proportion of longer delays leading to a much higher average delay of 30 minutes.
