Charter flight punctuality at Newcastle improved significantly during the year to date compared with the same period the previous year, the average delay reducing by nearly 40% from 21 minutes to 13 minutes and on-time performance increasing by nearly nine percentage points from 73% to 82%.
Charter flights at Newcastle had a significantly better punctuality profile than the UK average over the year to date.

All three major charter airlines demonstrated good punctuality at Newcastle during the summer 2009 season, Thomson Airways leading the group with an average delay of 9 minutes and 86% on-time performance.
Thomas Cook Airlines followed with a 14 minute average delay and 84% on-time performance, followed by Monarch Airlines with 16 minutes average delay and 75% of flights operating on time.

Thomas Cook Airlines and Thomson Airways operated charter flights at Newcastle during the winter 2008 / 09 season, both carriers recording very good timekeeping. Thomas Cook flights had slightly better on-time performance and a shorter average delay.
