Charter flight punctuality at Newcastle airport declined during 2007, the average delay increasing to 25 minutes from 21 mintues in 2006, with a two percentage point reduction in on-time performance to 74%.
Despite the increase in delays, Newcastle charter flights were more punctual than the UK average during the year.

MyTravel Airways was the most punctual airline at Newcastle during the summer 2007 season with excellent timekeeping, recording an average delay of just 8 minutes and boasting 90% on-time performance.
Thomsonfly followed with good punctuality, with Monarch Airlines in third position with close to average punctuality at the airport.
Thomas Cook Airlines and XL Airways followed with an average delay of around 32 minutes. Flyjet charter flights had the worst punctuality at the airport, with nearly 1 in 5 flights were delayed by over an hour, more than double the average seen at the airport and nationally.

MyTravel Airways and Thomsonfly both achieved very good punctuality performance during the winter 2006 / 07 season with average delays of 6 to 8 minutes and on-time performance around 90%.
Thomas Cook Airlines was in third position with average timekeeping, followed by Flyjet with a poorer 39 minute average delay and 57% on-time performance.
The small number of flights operated by XL Airways had very poor punctuality with the average flight operating 80 minutes behind schedule.
