Charter flight delays at Manchester Airport increased during the year to June 2008 compared with the same period the previous year, the average delay increasing from 29 to 32 minutes and on-time performance dropping from 66% to 61%.
Punctuality performance at the airport was worse than the UK average during the year, and the airport was the worst for charter flight delays of all 10 UK reporting airports.

The average charter flight at Manchester airport was delayed by around 31 minutes, with 57% on-time performance during the first three months of the summer 2008 season.
Thomsonfly / First Choice had the best punctuality at the airport with an average delay of 26 minutes, however their on-time performance at 58% was poorer than second-place XL Airways whose flights had an average delay of 29 minutes but recording 63% on-time performance.
Thomas Cook Airlines and Monarch Airlines had the longest delays at Manchester during the period, averaging 36 minutes and 45 minutes respectively. In the case of Monarch Airlines more than 1 in 6 charter flights was delayed in excess of one hour.
