Charter flight delays at London Luton during 2005 increased slightly compared with 2004 in all delay categories, except delays in excess of 1 hour which showed a slight reduction.
This increase in delays was consistent with the general pattern seen at all UK reporting airports during 2005, and charter flight punctuality at Luton remained much better than the UK average.

Thomas Cook Airlines had the best punctuality at London Luton over the summer 2005 season, though this was based on a small sample of flights.
First Choice Airways had good punctuality and a high on-time performance of 84%.
Thomsonfly had close to average timekeeping at the airport while Monarch Airlines charter flights had the worst timekeeping at the airport, the average delay recorded at close to 40 minutes.

First Choice Airways and Britannia Airways were the only major operators of charter flights at Luton over the winter 2004 / 2005 season, both with very good punctuality demonstrated.
First Choice had the better performance with a much lower proportion of longer delays resulting in a low average flight delay of less than 9 minutes.
