Charter flight punctuality at Gatwick improved during the year to date compared with the same period the previous year, the average delay reducing by 30% from 33 minutes to 24 minutes and on-time performance increasing by nearly 13 percentage points from 57% to 70%.
Despite the improvement, charter flights at Gatwick had slightly poorer punctuality than the UK average over the year to date.

Thomson Airways was the most punctual airline at London Gatwick during the summer 2009 season, with 79% on-time performance and an average delay of 16 minutes.
Thomas Cook Airlines and Monarch Airlines followed with an average delay of around 23 minutes for both airlines, Thomas Cook operating a higher proportion of flights on time at 76% compared with 71% for Monarch, but Monarch operating more flights within an hour of schedule compared with Thomas Cook.
Viking Airlines was the least punctual charter airline operating just over half of all flights on time and with the average flight operating nearly 36 minutes behind schedule.

Thomas Cook Airlines was the most punctual UK charter airline at Gatwick during the winter 2008 / 09 season, recording an average delay of less than 25 minutes and 68% on-time performance.
Thomson Airways followed with slightly below average performance at the airport, while flights operated by Monarch Airlines suffered the longest delays at 33 minutes on average.
