Charter flights at Glasgow airport suffered much longer delays during the year to date compared with the previous year, the average flight operating 32 minutes behind schedule and 61% of flights operating on-time.
Charter flight delays at the airport were worse than the UK average during the year to date, having been slightly better than average the previous year.

The average charter flight at Glasgow operated nearly 35 minutes behind schedule during the summer 2008 season, with overall on-time performance of 60% recorded, the worst seasonal punctuality seen at the airport since we began analysing records in 2003.
Thomsonfly / First Choice flights recorded the shortest average delay at 29 minutes. Thomas Cook Airlines followed with an average delay of around 37 minutes but the lowest on-time performance at 58%.
Despite recording the best on-time performance at Glasgow over the season, XL Airways finished in third position at the airport with an average delay in excess of 41 minutes, adversely affected by the large proportion of extensive delays with 7% of flights operating over 3 hours late.
The relatively small number of flights by Monarch Airlines had the worst timekeeping at Glasgow during the period, with the average flight delayed by nearly an hour.

First Choice Airways and MyTravel Airways had very good punctuality at Glasgow during the winter 2007 / 08 season, recording average delays of less than 15 minutes and on-time performance of 75% to 80%.
XL Airways and Thomsonfly followed with close to average punctuality at the airport, while Thomas Cook Airlines and Monarch Airlines had the worst timekeeping at the airport during the season.
