During the winter 2004 / 2005 season, the punctuality of XL Airways charter flights was the worst recorded for the carrier in three years of analysis. XL had a very high average delay of over 45 minutes, with little variation between the analysed airports. Only around half of all flights operated on time with nearly 1 in 5 services delayed over an hour (twice the winter 2003 / 2004 figure) and over 1 in 20 flights held up in excess of three hours (nearly three times the winter 2003 / 2004 figure).
