There was an improvement in punctuality for Thomson Airways charter flights during the year to date compared with the same period the previous year, with the average delay reducing by over 30% to 17 minutes and on-time performance increasing by nearly 13 percentage points to 77%.
This represents the best punctuality of any UK charter airline over the period and the best seen for the airline since 2004.

Thomson Airways charter flights at London Stansted, Newcastle and Birmingham had the best timekeeping during the summer 2009 season, with the average flight delayed between 9-12 minutes and on-time performance at 83% or more (an impressive 89% in the case of Stansted).
London Luton, Glasgow and Manchester followed with close to average timekeeping for the airline at around 14-15 minutes average delay.
London Gatwick saw slightly poorer than average punctuality for the airline, and the small number of flights operated at Edinburgh recorded the longest delays during the season at 28 minutes with just over half of all flights operating on time (55%).
The airline secured first position in our league table of charter airlines during the season for the second consecutive year.

Thomson Airways charter flights were delayed by an average of 25 minutes during the winter 2008 / 09 season, with around 68% on-time performance.
Flights at Newcastle had the best timekeeping with an average delay of 11 minutes and 84% on-time performance. Flights at Luton, Stansted, Manchester and Birmingham and Glasgow also had above-average punctuality for the airline.
Thomson Airways charter flights at London Gatwick suffered long delays averaging over 30 minutes with 63% on-time performance, while the small number of flights at Edinburgh had the worst timekeeping for the airline.
