There was a significant improvement in punctuality for Thomas Cook charter flights during the year to date compared with the same period the previous year, with the average delay reducing by over 35% to 21 minutes and on-time performance increasing by nearly 14 percentage points to 76%.
Thomas Cook punctuality was close to the UK average in all categories, except in the proportion of flights operating on time, which was higher for Thomas Cook than the average of all UK charter flights over the year to date.

Thomas Cook flights at London Stansted and Newcastle airports had the best punctuality during the summer 2009 season to date, with average delays of between 13-14 minutes and on-time performance of over 81%.
Glasgow and Birmingham followed with above-average punctuality for the airline at 19-21 minutes average delay and 78-80% on-time performance.
The longest delays for the airline were recorded at Edinburgh (69% on-time performance), London Gatwick (76% on-time performance) and Manchester (72% on-time performance).
Having been the most punctual charter airline at UK airports during the winter 2008/09 season, Thomas Cook slipped to third position in our league table of charter airlines during the summer 2009 season.

Thomas Cook Airlines was the most punctual UK charter airline during the winter 2008 / 09 season, with an average delay of 19 minutes and 75% on-time performance recorded.
Flights at Newcastle and Birmingham had the best punctuality for the airline, with over 80% on-time performance recorded.
The majority of Thomas Cook flights were at Manchester and London Gatwick during the season. Punctuality was better at Manchester with 77% on-time performance, compared with 68% at London Gatwick, though Thomas Cook was the most punctual UK charter airline at both airports.
