Thomas Cook Airlines disappointingly slipped again during the summer 2005 season to fourth place in the charter airline punctuality table, having lost the top spot in the summer 2004 season for the first time since 2001. The carrier now has a significant gap from first and second place airlines First Choice Airways and Thomsonfly. The average Thomas Cook flight was held up over 29 minutes and less than 70% of services operated on-time, compared with 17 minutes and 78% respectively for the same period in 2004.
Manchester and London Gatwick airport punctuality statistics in particular were poor in relation to other charter carriers, although good performance was seen for the airline at London Luton, Newcastle and Birmingham airports.

Thomas Cook charter flights at UK reporting airports suffered a drop in punctuality in the winter 2004 / 2005 season when compared with previous winter periods. The average flight was delayed by 23 minutes with 74% on-time performance and 1 in 13 flights on average operating over an hour late. This performance puts the carrier in third place overall for the winter 2004 / 2005 season, the first time they have not been the most punctual winter charter carrier in 4 years.
Flights at Birmingham, London Stansted and Newcastle had good punctuality, but the overall average delay for the carrier is adversely affected by a poor performance at Manchester and London Gatwick, particularly the latter where the average flight operated over 30 minutes behind schedule.
