The punctuality of Thomas Cook charter flights saw a dramatic improvement in 2002 compared with the previous year, the average delay dropping by 60% and on-time performance increasing from 63% to over 81% year-on-year.

This improvement was consistent with a general rise in punctuality across all UK charter flights, but having been close to the UK average in 2001 Thomas Cook charter flights in 2002 had far better punctuality than the UK average.

Thomas Cook were the most punctual UK charter airline during the summer 2002 season, with a the average flight delay at 13 minutes and 81% on-time performance.

Flights at London Luton and Newcastle had the best timekeeping, with the longest delays seen at Glasgow during the season.

Thomas Cook charter flights at Glasgow and Newcastle had the best punctuality over the winter 2001 / 2002 season, with average delays of less than 10 minutes recorded and 77% on-time performance.

Longer delays were seen at London Gatwick and for the small number of flights operated at London Stansted during the period.
