Summer 2003 punctuality statistics for MyTravel Airways, when compared with the summer period in 2002, indicate an increase in average flight delay, associated mainly with longer delays of greater than 1 hour and greater than 3 hours.

The proportion of flights operating on time during the summer season has held fairly constant year-on-year.

London Stansted was at the top of the punctuality table in 2003, along with Birmingham, Edinburgh and Newcastle.

Glasgow, London Gatwick and Manchester suffered the longest delays with some 1 in 7 flights at the latter operating over an hour late. Punctuality at London Gatwick and Manchester, the largest bases for MyTravel, declined significantly compared with summer 2002.

Particularly good on-time performance was demonstrated by MyTravel at Birmingham, Edinburgh, London Luton, Newcastle and London Stansted over the Winter 2002 / 2003 period.

Poor performances at Manchester and London Gatwick, the two airports where the most flights were operated by the carrier, had an adverse effect on the overall average flight delay.

At Manchester 1 in 7 flights was delayed over an hour, and 1 in 19 flights over 3 hours, while in comparison the best performing airport Birmingham had less than 1 in 40 flights held up over an hour and less than 1 in 200 over 3 hours.

On average MyTravel charter flights were delayed by 27 minutes, with 69% of services operating on-time and 1 in 10 flights delayed over an hour.
