In all delay categories, MyTravel charter flights saw a significant improvement in punctuality during 2002 compared with 2001, in line with analysis of all charter flights at UK airports which also showed a general improvement in punctuality.

Overall, MyTravel punctuality performance remained slightly below the average for all charter flights at UK airports, the average delay for the year standing at over 25 minutes with 67% on-time performance.

MyTravel punctuality performance at both London Stansted and London Luton was very impressive over the Summer 2002 period, unfortunately affected by average to poor performance at other reporting airports, particularly Manchester, Glasgow and Newcastle where more than 1 in 8 flights operated over an hour late and on-time performance was less than 65%.

On average, MyTravel charter flights over the Summer 2002 period were delayed by 26 minutes, with 67% on-time performance, 1 in 9 services operating over an hour late and 22% of those services further held up beyond 3 hours.

Edinburgh and London Stansted flights produced the best punctuality statistics for Airtours International over the Winter 2001 / 2002 period with around 75% on-time performance and less than 15 minutes average flight delay.

Poorer performance at Glasgow, London Gatwick and Manchester had an adverse affect on the average delay over the period, which was 23 minutes, with 66% on-time performance and 1 in 11 services delayed over an hour.
