During the 2009 summer season, Monarch Airlines was the most punctual UK charter airline at Birmingham and Edinburgh.

Monarch Airlines charter flight punctuality improved significantly over the year to date compared to the same period the previous year, the average delay reducing by 39% from 39 minutes to 24 minutes and on-time performance increasing by 14 percentage points to 69%.

Compared to the UK charter flight average, Monarch Airlines charter flights had slightly worse punctuality across all delay categories during the year to date.

Monarch Airlines ranked third out of four UK Charter Airlines for flight punctuality during the rolling year to date.

Monarch charter flights at Birmingham had the best punctuality during the summer 2009 season with an average delay of just over 5 minutes and nearly 91% on-time performance recorded, the best performance recorded for any charter airline at an individual airport during the season.

Flights at Edinburgh and Newcastle also had good timekeeping, with 83% and 75% on-time performance respectively for those airports.

Delays were longest at Manchester (19 minutes), London Luton (22 minutes) and London Gatwick (23 minutes), with on-time performance of around 70% recorded at these airports.

Monarch secured second position in our league table of charter airlines during the summer 2009 season.

Monarch Airlines charter flights were delayed by an average of 31 minutes with 59% on-time performance during the winter 2008 / 09 season. Flights at Birmingham had the best punctuality with an average delay of 18 minutes.

Monarch charter flights at Manchester and London Gatwick had longer delays in excess of 30 minutes, while the small number of flights operated at Stansted, Edinburgh, Luton and Glasgow also had long delays.
