The punctuality of Monarch Airlines charter flights declined during the year to October 2008 compared with the same period the previous year, the average delay increasing from 32 minutes to 38 minutes and on-time performance reducing from 60% to 55%.
The punctuality profile for the airline over the year to date remained somewhat poorer than the UK charter flight average.

Monarch charter flights were delayed by an average of 40 minutes during the summer 2008 season, with 54% on-time performance recorded, the worst performance seen among UK charter airlines during the period.
Good punctuality was seen at Birmingham, with an average delay of less than 15 minutes seen and 76% on-time performance achieved.
Flights at Edinburgh also had good on-time performance at 77%, despite a higher average delay at 18 minutes.
Flights at Manchester and London Gatwick, the largest bases for Monarch charter flights, suffered average delays of over 40 minutes, and on-time performance of around 50%.
The small number of Monarch charter flights at Newcastle also had very poor timekeeping during the period, with the average flight operating nearly 80 minutes behind schedule.

Monarch charter flights at Birmingham recorded good punctuality during the winter 2007 / 08 season with an average delay of 11 minutes and 78% on-time performance.
Other airports had much poorer timekeeping, in particular London Gatwick where a large proportion of Monarch charter flights operated during the season and only 50% on-time performance was achieved.
