In all delay categories, Monarch charter flights saw an improvement in punctuality during 2002 compared with 2001, in line with analysis of all charter flights at UK airports which also showed a general improvement in punctuality.
Overall, Monarch charter punctuality performance remained slightly below the average for all charter flights at UK airports, the average delay for the year standing at over 25 minutes with 68% on-time performance.

The average Monarch charter flight operated 24 minutes behind schedule during the summer 2002 season, with 70% on-time performance.
A poor performance was seen at London Gatwick, where the highest proportion of Monarch charter flights operated over season, and this adversely affected the average delay and high overall proportion of services operating over an hour late (1 in 11).
Newcastle and Edinburgh saw the best on-time performance for the carrier.
