The average First Choice charter flight was delayed by 24 minutes during 2006, a 38% increase on the 2005 average, with on-time performance dropping five percentage points from 72% in 2005 to 67% in 2006.
Despite the increase in delays, First Choice charter punctuality remained better than the UK average during the year.

First Choice punctuality slipped during summer 2006 compared with the previous year when the airline was awarded the most punctual UK charter airline. Summer 2006 saw the carrier in third position, the average delay increasing to nearly 23 minutes, a 34% increase on the summer 2005 average.
First Choice flights at Glasgow boasted the best punctuality during the season, with an average delay of only 12 minutes.
A significant proportion of First Choice charter flights operated at Manchester airport during the season, where slightly better than average performance for the airline was recorded, and where the airline finished as runner-up for punctuality.
The poorest timekeeping for First Choice flights was seen at London Gatwick airport, where the airline operated more charter flights than any other carrier during the season, and where the average delay was over 27 minutes with 1 in 9 flights delayed by over an hour. This was a much poorer performance than seen for the airline during summer 2005 at the airport, when they were the best UK charter airline for punctuality at Gatwick.

Punctuality of First Choice Airways flights dropped significantly during the winter 2005 / 2006 season, following good performances for the carrier since summer 2003.
The average flight was delayed nearly 27 minutes, though when examining punctuality data at airport level significant variation can be seen.
The best First Choice punctuality was at Birmingham, where the average flight was delayed only 13 minutes and 84% of flights operated on time.
The poorest punctuality was seen at Glasgow and London Gatwick, where the average flight was delayed by over 34 minutes, and in the case of Gatwick only 63% of flights operated on time with 1 in 9 services over an hour late.
