Astraeus charter flight punctuality in 2004 remained almost the same as the 2003 results, the average flight delayed around 27 minutes with 64% on-time performance, which remained slightly poorer than the average for all UK charter flights.
The general trend for UK charter flights was for a drop in punctuality year-on-year, not mirrored in the Astraeus results.

Astraeus flights saw a punctuality improvement during the summer 2004 season, with the average flight delayed less than 25 minutes and 67% on-time performance, better than previous seasons.
Punctuality at Manchester in particular has been very good, Astraeus being the second most punctual UK charter airline at the North West airport during the season. The overall average Astraeus delay was adversely affected by a poor performance at London Gatwick where the carrier achieved only 5th position.

Astraeus suffered their worst season for punctuality in winter 2003 / 2004 since the inaugration of services in summer 2002, with the average flight operating nearly 40 minutes behind schedule and 1 in 6 services held up over an hour. Only 53% of Astraeus flights operated within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, a drop of more than 10% when compared with the previous two seasons.
London Gatwick, the main base for the airline, saw the average flight delay double from the winter 2002 / 2003 season, with nearly 5 times as many services delayed in excess of three hours.
A small number of long delays at Glasgow pushed the average delay at that airport to 43 minutes, but arguably the worst performance was at Manchester where 1 in 5 flights was delayed over an hour and only 40% on time performance was achieved, less than half the proportion seen for the leading charter carriers at the airport.
