Astraeus charter flight punctuality improved in 2003 compared with 2002, the average flight delay reducing from 33 minutes to 27 minutes and a rise in on-time performance from 52% to 65%. The most significant improvement was in the proportion of flights delayed over an hour (18% in 2002 reducing to 10% in 2003).
The trend for all UK charter flights year-on-year was also for an improvement, and Astraeus charter flights remained less punctual than the UK average.

Whilst Astraeus boasted a reasonable punctuality performance at London Gatwick over the summer 2003 season, the opposite was true at Manchester where a high proportion of 1 in 7 flights operated over an hour late, and 1 in 27 over 3 hours late.
A comparison with the summer period in 2002 reveals similar findings, though the London Gatwick figures have improved this year and in general the proportion of flights delayed over an hour has halved in summer 2003.
On average during the summer 2003 season 66% of Astraeus flights operated on time with 1 in 10 services running over an hour late leading to an average flight delay of around 26 minutes.
